The Pixel Watch 3 design video introduces an unreleased concentric watch face with new complications

The Pixel Watch 3 was announced on August 13th and featured several improvements over its predecessor. A standout aspect was the two sizes it was available in and also the peak brightness, allowing better visibility outdoors. Google often showcases the design and features of Pixel products in visually appealing videos, and the latest video appears to be about the design of the Pixel Watch 3. The video shows an unreleased layout with a Concentrated watch face for the wearable. The layout in the video seems to focus on a minimalist and clean aesthetic.

A new Pixel Watch 3 design video reveals an unreleased update to the Concentric watch face

Made by Google has released a new video introducing the Pixel Watch 3 and highlighting its design elements. One of the first things we noticed at the recent presentation was the Concentric dial, which hasn’t been released yet. The design consists of different elements arranged in the central part of the dial, giving it a more defined and structured look and improving legibility thanks to the more symmetrical pattern.

The independent concentric layout highlighted in the video is not included in any of the Pixel Watch models, but is similar to the Dial I Watch face, with the hour markers clearly visible to improve readability, which remains Google’s classic approach to its smartwatch -Interfaces is. The new concentric design adds a unique element to the existing design by introducing a ring of four complications placed between the minute and second markers.

The new concentric dial improves the overall look and functionality by making it clearer, allowing easier access to information and keeping modern aesthetics in mind. The evolution of the layout underlines Google’s ongoing efforts to offer a mix of functionality and design, particularly in its wearables. Although the new watch face hasn’t been released yet, the recent video could hint at a future update.

While the bottom panels show heart rate and battery percentage, we don’t see VO2 Max or cardio fitness score as a complication. Given the graphic with the two waves and a numerical value, the fourth slot is most likely to have a breathing rate.

Additionally, the video showcases watch faces from the wearable range, including Athletics, Field and Active. The Pixel Watch and Watch 2 have not yet received any new faces in 2024. It remains to be seen whether the Pixel Watch 3 will receive the Concentric face as an update until Google officially confirms it. Still, it would be refreshing to see it being more than just a concept.
