Aaron Graves

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa junior defensive lineman Aaron Graves was named the Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week following his play in the Hawkeyes’ 40-16 win over Washington on Saturday. Graves shares the honor with Koi Perich of Minnesota.

The weekly conference honor is the first for Graves and the second for a Hawkeye this season, as Kaleb Johnson was named co-offensive player of the week following Iowa’s road win at Minnesota.

Against Washington, Graves totaled five tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass deflection. The two forced fumbles were the best of his career for Graves, a native of Dayton, Iowa.

Iowa’s O-Line on Joe Moore’s Roll of Honor

IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa offensive line has been named to the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll. The award recognizes offensive units that demonstrate a high level of toughness, commitment, teamwork, consistency, technique and finishing quality.

The award is named for Joe Moore, widely considered one of the best offensive coaches in college football history. It is the only major college football award honoring a unit.

Iowa’s offensive line includes center Logan Jones, tackles Mason Richman and Gennings Dunker, and guards Connor Colby and Beau Stephens. The Hawkeye offense has gained 200 or more rushing yards in four of the team’s five games.
