NE10 Offensive Player of the Week

E’Lijah Gray, Southern Connecticut
Senior | Running Back | Somers Point, NJ

In a back-and-forth battle against Post in which the Owls escaped with a 31-27 victory, Gray carried the ball 27 times and finished the game with 204 yards and a touchdown, including a 46-yard run during he also added two catches for 19 yards. It was Gray’s second 200-yard rushing game of his career, dating back to last season’s matchup against Post. Gray currently leads the NE10 with 696 rushing yards, while his 116 yards per game average is second. He also scored four touchdowns this year. Gray also ranks third in the conference in all-purpose yards with 825.


NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Dion Kuinlan, Ascension
PhD student | Defensive defender | Bethpage, NY

Kuinlan was everywhere for the Greyhounds in their 16-13 win over Bentley. The New York native recorded a game-high 15 tackles, including 13 solo stops. He added an interception in the fourth quarter that set up the game-winning field goal. Kuinlan led a Hounds defense that allowed 145 yards and six first downs in the second half of the game. He currently ranks second nationally in solo tackles per game (8.2).


NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week

Gabriel Bertolazzo, Assumption of Mary
Senior | Punter | Winter Garden, Florida

Bertolazzo was instrumental in the Greyhounds’ 16-13 win over Bentley. The veteran punter had eight punts totaling 426 yards, with six going over 50 yards and three landing inside the seven-yard line. The Falcons’ average starting position after Bertolazzo’s punts was the 18-yard line. This year he leads the conference in average (40.8) and 50+ yard kicks (8).


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Daniel Benzi, Southern Connecticut
Freshmen | Kicker | Middletown, Connecticut

Benzi was 4 of 4 on point-after attempts and also converted a 34-yard field goal (seven total points) as the Owls defeated Post 31-27 in league play.
