Stop ignoring Apple’s cheap tech crime – the ,000 iPhone 16 Pro has 128GB of storage in 2024-2025?!

When the iPhone 16 series came out, I was sure that Apple would finally give the smaller iPhone 16 Pro the 256GB base storage it deserves – after all, last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max had 256GB, and the new one 16 Pro Max too.

But as it turns out, I was completely wrong. The smaller iPhone 16 Pro Still starts with 128GB of storage, and since no one else seems to be calling out this technology crime, I figured I’d…
So, here we go…

Apple’s latest tech crime shouldn’t be ignored – the iPhone 16 Pro may not launch with 128GB of storage in 2024-2025

I mean… it’s that simple – in 2024 no one should be paying $1,000 for a flagship smartphone with just 128GB of storage. I could end the story here, but I think I need to be more professional…

Apple’s decision to separate the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max almost feels like a prank in that way. Seriously: Why does the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max need more storage than the smaller one? iPhone 16 Pro? Because it takes bigger screenshots?!
What makes matters worse is that upgrading from 128GB to 256GB costs an additional $100 in the US and a whopping €130 in Europe. That’s a steep price increase for something that should have been the base option from the start.

And when you look at Apple’s competitors, this decision seems even more frustrating…

Take Samsung… The Galaxy S24+, that iPhone 16 The Pro’s direct competitor starts with 256GB of storage out of the box, while Chinese brands are also very generous in this regard – for example, the Xiaomi 14 series comes with 256GB as standard.
But let’s make it even more embarrassing for Apple and mention that many budget and mid-range phones like Motorola’s latest models also start at 256GB for around $200 to $300.

So which phone is “Pro,” Apple? My $200 Motorola or the $1,000 Motorola iPhone 16 Pro? This really is a mystery, and it shouldn’t be.

What’s the iPhone 16 Pro’s “pro-grade camera” with an amateur amount of storage, Apple?

Look… The truth is that Apple is doing what it has always done: namely, selling iPhone users more storage space.

But Tim Cook and Co. know that iPhone users will run out of storage faster than ever in 2024, so it feels like they’re taking advantage. People use more apps today than they did a few years ago because there’s literally an app for everything these days – I mean, McDonald’s has an app and apps are getting bigger.
Plus, people are capturing more content than ever before – be it 4K videos for social media, ProRAW photos for editing, or just a few photos and videos from everyday life, and all of this data is taking up storage space.

Apple likes to market how good the iPhone is for shooting professional videos, and it’s true. But videos, especially 4K and ProRAW videos, eat up storage space like there’s no tomorrow. So why on earth would Apple think it’s a good idea to offer a Pro model with just 128GB?!

iPhone users are used to being “robbed,” but we shouldn’t miss this

I’d even say that even if Apple decides to increase the base storage to 256GB on the smaller iPhone 17 Pro, that won’t make up for the stingy move iPhone 16 Series.
But let’s not go to such bold predictions – that iPhone 17 Pro could very well fall back to 64GB of storage if inflation continues to rise.

And I want to remind you, it’s not just that iPhone 16 Pro That’s what’s being neglected here – the vanilla iPhone 16 Models also start with 128GB of storage, and they’re still very expensive phones.

I assume Apple knows that iPhone users will pay for storage upgrades despite these ridiculous storage limits. But for those of us who value value for money, this feels like a slap in the face.

For now that is iPhone 16 The Pro’s base storage remains one of the most disappointing aspects of an otherwise great phone. Let’s not miss this, iPhone users!
