Diablo 4 Season 6 went live last week, bringing a host of new features and content, including several quality of life improvements. The update not only brought back existing players, but also attracted new players eager to immerse themselves in the world of Diablo 4. Steam Deck users in particular seem to be enjoying the new season, as the game has reached Diablo 4’s top spot on the platform’s charts.

Diablo 4 is currently the most played game on the Steam Deck

Along with Season 6, Diablo 4’s first paid expansion, Vessel of Hatred, was released on October 8th. This expansion is packed with new content including bosses, weapons, dungeons, a new class and more. A look at the Steam Deck Top Played charts shows that both the new season and the expansion have significantly increased the game’s popularity, making it the most played game on Steam Deck currently.

Steam Deck Top Played (October 8, 2024 – October 14, 2024)

Diablo 4 was already popular as it reached fifth place in the charts. However, the release of Season 6 and the new expansion has increased its popularity even further among Steam Deck users. Currently, it ranks above titles like Stardew Valley, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and even Baldur’s Gate 3. The deck’s portability allows players to immerse themselves in the seasonal hustle and bustle wherever they go, which is especially handy for those who don’t always have time to sit out before one PC or a console.

Perhaps the most important detail is that since Diablo 4 is Steam Deck verified, it runs smoothly right out of the box. A user on Reddit also confirmed that the expansion runs fine on the deck.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that the game’s ranking will likely drop once players explore the new content. This is a common trend for most titles, as excitement tends to wane a few weeks after a new season or expansion is released. While the initial surge in popularity seems large, the only way Blizzard can sustain it is by releasing constant updates to Diablo 4.
