LOBO adds acclaimed director Cristiana Miranda to its live-action team

Hot on the heels of recently launching its standalone live-action division, diverse creative studio LOBO is proud to announce the signing of acclaimed live-action director Cristiana Miranda.

Cristiana is known for her versatile directing style, which seamlessly combines narrative depth with striking images. She brings a wealth of experience from working with global brands, high-profile celebrities and critically acclaimed documentaries. Their addition to LOBO’s live-action slate underscores the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of creative storytelling.

Cristiana comes from Lisbon and made her mark on the industry at the age of 21 with a hugely successful documentary about burlesque icon Dita Von Teese. The film, which aired on the Discovery Channel, received critical acclaim, was featured on Britain’s Friday Night Show with Jonathan Ross and earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer at the London Rushes Film Festival.

LOBO Live Action EP Paul Amorese shares his excitement about welcoming Cristiana to the team, saying, “I first came across Cristiana’s work when I saw her post about Dita Von Teese. What struck me was how she captured the essence of her subject with such grace. It was one of those moments when you recognize a filmmaker who brings something very special to the table, and from then on I naturally wanted to know more about her work.”

After such a promising start, it’s no surprise that Cristiana’s career continued to flourish. Since then, she has fronted campaigns for some of the world’s most recognizable brands and faces, including Johnnie Walker, L’Oréal, Adidas, Burberry, Lionel Messi, Roger Federer, Davina McCall and Holly Willoughby, to name a few.

Cristiana’s contract with LOBO’s live-action division is the result of a long-standing mutual admiration between the director and the production company. The opportunity to combine their experience with LOBO’s renowned expertise is also a top priority for everyone. Cristiana explains: “It’s exciting to work with LOBO and see how we can combine our backgrounds to continue creating exciting work.” I think at the moment this relationship is about exploration and really diving into fun possibilities, Combining live action with animation.”

Although the partnership is still in its early stages, Cristiana is looking forward to getting to know the talent at LOBO and building bridges together. Given LOBO’s international reputation for creative excellence, she sees the potential to reach new audiences and markets and leverage the company’s global platform to expand her artistic reach.

“LOBO’s work speaks for itself,” Cristiana continues. “They immediately create a ‘seal of quality’. I just want to give it continuity and hopefully bring a different flavor into the mix that has a wider reach given LOBO’s widespread recognition.”

In addition to her work with LOBO Live Action, Cristiana continues to be at the helm of her Lisbon-based production company, Playground. The company is known for its focus on supporting young talent. By the end of the year, Playground will begin production on a number of feature projects that have been in development for some time. This new project highlights Christiana’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries – not just in commercial work, but also in long-form storytelling.

Loic Dubois, Chief Growth Officer of LOBO, added: “Cristiana’s versatility, bright creative spirit and ability to seamlessly transition between high-profile celebrity work, documentary storytelling and beautifully crafted commercial campaigns make her an incredible addition to LOBO. “ We’re excited to see how their sophisticated, bold approach will elevate our creative output as we venture into new markets and global campaigns.”

With the support of LOBO’s international platform, the next phase of Christiana’s career promises to be as dynamic and exciting as the work that has already shaped her journey.
