Grand Lake Festivals presents the second Old-Time Gathering & Music Festival. The festival begins Friday at Snider’s Camp with food, music and fun. The festival continues at 10 a.m. Saturday with music and festivities throughout the day at the Har-Ber Village Events Center. Watch demonstrations of traditional skills and lectures on the history of the music and its resurgence. The festival will culminate on Saturday evening with a Contra Dance organized by Glen Schmidt at the Event Center with caller Susan Downs and the Silver Dollar String Band.

BooHaHa

BooHaHa is considered Oklahoma’s largest Halloween parade and event and will take place on Saturday, October 19th from 9 a.m. to noon.

There will be kids zones and trick-or-treating at the start of the event. Costume contests for children and pets will be held at 10 a.m. The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. The parade moves north on Peoria Avenue from South 45th Street to South 33rd Street.

Children’s areas are located at Brookside Collective Park, 3737 S. Peoria Ave.; Brookside Library, 1207 E. 45th Place; Myers-Duren Harley Davidson, 4848 S. Peoria Ave. and Southminster Presbyterian, 3500 S. Peoria Ave.

Reyna Grande

The Tulsa City-County Library will present Reyna Grande with the Hummingbird Award in Literary Arts on October 19. Grande will speak about her life and writings and sign copies of her books. Grande is the author of the bestselling memoirs “The Distance Between Us” and “A Dream Called Home,” in which she shares her experiences before and after arriving in the United States from Mexico as an undocumented immigrant child.

Celebrations at the meeting point

A Halloween edition of Cox Movie Night will be held at the QuikTrip Great Lawn of The Gathering Place on October 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On October 26th, dress up in your favorite costume and take part in a Halloween costume show. After the show, enjoy an exciting Kids Glow Rave hosted by Malcolm (CANVA$) Maholmes, a popular social media DJ known for his upbeat and family-friendly jams. Guests will also get into the Halloween spirit as they dance in the crowd with iconic and friendly characters. All participants in the costume presentation will receive a candy and light bag. Meadow Gold Candy Cruise on Route 66

Visit the Meadow Gold District at 11th and Peoria for a trunk-or-treat experience with cool cars, inflatables, Route 66-themed carnival games with prizes at Buck Atom’s, free tickets, storytelling at Decopolis, balloon twisting, face painting and Trick-or-treating at participating companies.

Jenks Trick or Treat on Main Street

The Jenks Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Trick-or-Treat event on Main Street on Halloween from 4 to 6 p.m. Downtown Jenks becomes home to ghosts, superheroes and more for a family-friendly Halloween celebration.

Wagon rides, a sugar cane maze, animal rides and a pumpkin patch attract visitors to Carmichael’s.

Carmichael’s Pumpkin Patch is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October 31st. Admission is free, but some attractions cost extra.

Pumpkin festival at Shepherd’s Cross

The working farm offers more than 60 activities, from games and mazes to insights into daily life on the farm.

Opening times are Tuesday to Saturday until November 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, but a $5 donation per person is recommended.
