PV Sindhu And Lakshya Sen will lead the Indian squad Denmark Open 2024 Badminton Tournament in the Arena Fyn in Odense from Tuesday.

Sen, meanwhile, is India’s only entry in the men’s singles at the Denmark Open. On his return to competition last week, the Indian badminton playerwho landed one victory shy of the Olympic podium in Paris 2024, lost to the Chinese Chou Tien Chen from Taipei.

World number 19 Sen was drawn against Lu Guang Zu of the People’s Republic of China, who is ranked 17th.

Malvika Bansod, Unnati Hooda and Aakarshi Kashyap will also play in the women’s singles competition.

Bansod, who made it to the last eight at the China Open, a BWF Super 1000 event, last month, was eliminated in the round of 16 of the recently concluded Arctic Open.

While no Indian couple will be represented in the men’s doubles, four couples will appear on court in the women’s and mixed doubles.

Panda sisters Rutaparna and Swetaparna will face Chang Ching Hui/Yang Ching Tun of Chinese Taipei, while Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand will take on fifth seeds Tan Pearly/Thinaah Muralitharan of Malaysia in the opener of their women’s doubles match.

In the mixed doubles, Sathish Kumar Karunakaran/Aadya Variyath will face Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati and B. Sumeeth Reddy/Sikki Reddy will face Canadian pair Kevin Lee and Eliana Zhang in the first round.
