Fantasy Football Rankings Week 6 (2024): PPR and Non-PPR

play

Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season is officially underway.

Week 5 was another doozy for fantasy managers. Joe Flacco and Bo Nix were the top eight quarterbacks. Josh Allen was the QB19. The top five running backs were Tank Bigsby, D’Andre Swift, Rico Dowdle, Kareem Hunt and a rumored benched Rhamondre Stevenson. Three of the top nine wideouts were Darnell Mooney, Darius Slayton and Alec Pierce. And on the list of the top nine tight ends were Charlie Kolar (??), Mo Alie-Cox and Brenton Strange. Strange indeed.

To help you with your toughest lineup decisions, below are my fantasy football rankings for Week 6. Switch between standard, half PPR (points per reception), and full PPR to see where players rank in your league’s format rank.

Our team at USA TODAY Sports Network also has all your fantasy football needs covered. Looking for the latest gaming news? We have it. Want to know who the best starts and sits of the week are? We have an article about it. We also have fantasy defense rankings, kicker rankings, and a trade value chart to help you with all your trading decisions.

Given the volatility of this league, and fantasy football in particular, these rankings will be updated up to half an hour before games begin on Sunday afternoon. Let’s get down to business.

Week 6 fantasy football quarterback rankings

  • UPGRADE: Caleb Williams is this week’s lucky draw winner in Jacksonville. To date, the Jaguars allow opposing quarterbacks 1.1 more fantasy points per game than any other team in the league. In fact, the last three passers to face this defense have had QB1, QB7, and QB5 completions.
  • UPGRADE: Daniel Jones gets perhaps the Bengals’ second-best matchup of the week. Since Week 3, the Bengals have allowed quarterbacks an average of 26.1 fantasy points per game. Meanwhile, Jones has been the QB10 in fantasy since Week 1.
  • Stock down: CJ Stroud has finished three of his last four appearances as QB15 or worse and is now without his top weapon Nico Collins, who was placed on IR with a hamstring injury. This game also has a projected total score of 38, which doesn’t help matters.
  • Stock drop: Trevor Lawrence collected 371 passing yards in an exciting Week 5 game and still only finished the game as QB10. He has now been QB10 or lower in a whopping 17 of his last 20 games. He will face a Bears team that allows fewer than 10 fantasy points per game at the position.

Week 6 fantasy football running back rankings

  • UPGRADE: Tony Pollard has finished two of his four games this season as a top-15 player, and now he gets a perfect matchup in Week 6. The Colts have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing backfields. More importantly, no team has more running back touches per game than Indianapolis. Given the uncertainty at quarterback for Tennessee, a run-heavy approach is all but certain.
  • STOCK STOCK: Tank Bigsby posted 129 yards and two touchdowns against the Colts in Week 5. The 23-year-old passed Travis Etienne and recorded seven more carries than last year’s RB3. As an added bonus, the Bears are a run funnel defense that ranks 10th worst against running backs this season.
  • Inventory drops: Travis EtienneBigsby’s stock is moving in the opposite direction. While Bigsby’s workload has increased in recent weeks, Etienne’s has decreased as a result. Like it or not, Bigsby deserves this attention. Last year’s RB3 still needs to perform better than RB20 in 2024. Yikes.
  • Inventory drops: Javonte Williams totaled 111 yards on 18 touches in Week 5, resulting in an RB15 finish. It was the first time in 2024 that he finished higher than RB27. Week 6 will likely cause further problems for the 24-year-old. This season, the Chargers give up the seventh-fewest fantasy points to the running back position. Activating rookie Austin Estime could also put a strain on Williams’ workload and further hurt his chances.

Week 6 fantasy football wide receiver rankings

  • UPGRADE: Rome Odunze faces a Jaguars secondary that gives up the most fantasy points and the second-most yards to opposing wideouts. Although his stats weren’t particularly impressive, Odunze did score two red zone goals in Week 5. We’ve already seen an explosion from the rookie this season, and there could be another one this week.
  • UPGRADE: Jalen Tolbert was peppered with 10 targets in the first game after Brandin Cooks was placed on IR, including the game-winning touchdown and three red zone looks. He ranks in the top 40 against a Lions defense that allows the most receptions and yards per game to receivers in 2024.
  • Inventory drops: Garrett Wilson Last week, it took him an absurd 22 targets to get to 101 yards against a subpar Vikings secondary. That doesn’t bode well for his matchup with Buffalo, a team that is giving up the fifth-fewest receiving yards and fantasy points to wideouts this season.
  • Inventory drops: Courtland Sutton has relied on high target volume to get home this season, and if that doesn’t happen, he’s in a crater. Against a Chargers team that is the fourth stingiest at wide receiver, we could see another dud.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings

  • UPGRADE: Tucker Power has outscored all other tight ends by 8.2 half PPR points since Week 3. However, we should not rely on his accommodation 66-yard touchdowns Every week, at such a small position, he has too much potential to ignore.
  • UPGRADE: Dalton Schultz was targeted for a season-best six times last week, a trend that looks set to continue as long as Nico Collins is out of the squad. After all, Collins ranked fifth in the league with a 29.3% target share in Week 4. New England has given up the eighth-most yards to tight ends this season.
  • Inventory is falling: Dallas Goedert has scored 19 goals in his last two games, but he’ll soon be back down to earth as AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith will be back for the Eagles in Week 6.
  • Inventory drops: Cole Kmet has finished TE15 or worse in every game Keenan Allen has played in this season. Chicago’s passing game is on the rise, but Kmet is nothing more than a TE2.
