Analysis is based on Scott’s Week 6 PPR rankings. With injuries and rest weeks bringing with them many pressing needs, this time we’ll focus on the top RB and WR streamers, listed in order of positional ranking.

Be sure to check out all of our 2024 fantasy football rankings:

Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants

Devin Singletary is out for Week 6 and the Giants’ rookie will make his second straight start. Tracy showed versatility and pulled off the win in Seattle, and now she has a very good match to take advantage of. The Bengals are ranked 30thTh in the NFL against the run. I ranked Tracy as a high-end RB2 in Week 6, just outside the top 12.

Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Rachaad White is not expected to play, and this first-year RB should be the clear top RB for the Buccaneers. Irving threatened to wrest the role away from White and is now getting a real audition to be the starter. He’ll have to prove that the opportunity will lead to an ideal performance, but the Saints’ defense may be spending a lot of time on the field this week, putting Irving just outside my top 20 at RB.

Jeremy McNichols, Washington Commander

Many fantasy league players will favor Austin Ekeler as a lineup option with Brian Robinson Jr. out. That’s understandable, but I expect he will share a significant amount of the workload with McNichols, who may be the slightly preferred choice to create the most scoring opportunities.

McNichols scored a total of three touchdowns in the last two games and Washington-Baltimore looks to be a high-scoring duel. You might get more than one touchdown from him, which is why McNichols ranks just inside my top 20 RBs this week.

Rico Dowdle, Dallas Cowboys

Seeing Detroit as a fast-paced defense might prompt you to reserve Dowdle. The Lions rank fourth in run defense. Last week, however, Dowdle delivered his best performance yet, rushing for 109 scrimmage yards and a TD against the Steelers.

Pittsburgh ranks fifth against the run, and Dowdle didn’t shy away from a tough matchup in Week 5. Dallas-Detroit will be another high-scoring matchup, so he should at least post respectable fantasy totals while also seeing a few TD opportunities as both a runner and receiver. Dowdle is a top-25 fantasy RB this week.

Antonio Gibson, New England Patriots

He is expected to start against the Texans as Rhamondre Stevenson will miss the game. Drake Maye will make his first NFL start and could rely on Gibson to catch some passes out of the backfield as a safety. I don’t consider Gibson to be a starter, but he has decent overall results as a top-30 fantasy RB heading into Week 6.

Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers

Vidal was a hot fantasy addition over the weekend when Gus Edwards went on IR. He was expected to serve as the RB2 for the Chargers against Denver. JK Dobbins will still be the starter and adding this rookie to the lineup just yet isn’t a good idea. Vidal was a sensible signing as a free agent, but we need to see him actually show he’s willing to take the chance to play more.

Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants

Malik Nabers will miss a second straight game and Darius Slayton will receive major attention in the lineup after an impressive showing in Week 5. I still prefer Robinson as a safer fantasy WR. Slayton has a long history of unreliability and Robinson has been targeted more consistently so far this year. He is just outside the top 15 WRs.

Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers

The popular preseason sleeper pick was touted as an exciting option for the Week 5 lineup as Wicks was given a chance to play a more prominent role. He failed on two balls for 20 yards. I recommend continuing to believe in Wicks and looking for a rebound against the Cardinals. Arizona played better defensively than expected, but should still be vulnerable to the pass.

Tank Dell, Houston Texans

The second-year downfield playmaker has disappointed so far this season, but is now poised for a resurgence with Nico Collins on IR. Dell is listed at 165 pounds, so don’t expect big catches if Stefon Diggs and Xavier Hutchinson can score key possessions. Still, Dell has a lead over New England’s 25Th-ranked pass defense and is rated as a higher WR3.

Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys

In Week 5, Tolbert caught the game-winning TD pass against the Steelers. He had seven receptions on 10 carries for 87 yards and could be targeted frequently in the scheduled shootout between the Cowboys and Lions. Dak Prescott remains one of the most aggressive shooters in the league, and Detroit allows the second-most FFPG to WRs. Tolbert is one of the top 35 fantasy WRs of Week 6.

Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans

In his first season with the Titans, Ridley was a major source of fantasy frustration. Still, some fantasy league players will remain patient with him and haven’t quite given up in the Mark Andrews spirit. The Colts are ranked 25thTh in FFPG to WRs, so Ridley could show better form this week. There is still some skepticism about Will Levis as QB, so the new Tennessee WR is only one of the top 35 WRs.

Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts

The ceiling is apparent, but Pierce completely lacks the statistical floor. He has caught more than three passes in a game so far this season. The Titans rank first in FFPG allowed to WRs, and Josh Downs and Michael Pittman Jr. could be available for Week 6, so Pierce is a boom-or-bust WR4.

Quarterbacks and Tight Ends – Fantasy Football Week 5

Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons

His performance in Week 5 was so amazing that I’ve probably said the word “extraordinary” the most times since Titanic Film was shot. Cousins was never considered a regular QB1 for the Vikings. He may not be a regular starter for Atlanta either. A matchup with the Panthers, who are ranked 27thTh allowed in FFPG for QBs, but positions Cousins as a top 10 QB this week.

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens

After falling so far down in the weekly TE rankings that he is no longer in the top 10, the usual fantasy star has become the target of major fantasy fears. So many fantasy league players already have so little patience for Andrews that they refuse to start him.

I appeal to you to perhaps give Andrews another chance in Week 6. Washington’s pass defense is one of the most exploitable units in the league, and this is a good opportunity to get him back on offense. Andrews was targeted five times last week, and if you don’t have another top-10 option at TE, look to use him again.
