iOS 18: How to change your iPhone’s lock screen controls

How to change your iPhone lock screen controls

1. Open Settings.
2. Knock wallpaper.
3. Knock Adjust under your lock screen.

This will display your lock screen with familiar outlines around editable elements, including the flashlight and camera controls at the bottom of the screen. You can remove them by clicking the minus sign (–) sign next to it. After removing one or both controls, tap Completed in the top right corner of your screen.

If you want to add new controls, tap the plus sign (+) character that appears after removing the controller to enter the controller menu. This menu shows you all the controls you can add to the lock screen, including Translate and Quick Note.

There is also a control called Open App. This allows you to select any app on your iPhone and open it directly from your lock screen, even if it’s not a listed control. You still have to unlock your iPhone to access the app, but it makes it easy to open your favorite apps without being distracted by others.

Once you select “Open app,” tap Choose in the new menu and all your apps will be displayed. Select any app—including games like Hello Kitty Island Adventure—then tap outside the menu Completed.

Now when you lock your iPhone, your lock screen will either not show any controls or will show controls that you use more often. Now you could randomly open Hello Kitty – oh no, I guess I have to bake a strawberry cake for all my friends.
