Alabama’s Giana Paul scored midway through the first half and that was the offense the Crimson Tide needed to beat Texas A&M 1-0.

It is Alabama’s first SEC win of the season as its conference record improves to 1-1-5 and 8-3-5 overall. Texas A&M falls to 3-4 in league play and 8-7 overall

The defense was the main player at the start of the game. Both teams had chances, but both teams’ goaltenders, Crimson Tide’s Ellie Lanyi and Aggies’ Sydney Fuller, blocked several shots on goal. In that game, Alabama outscored Texas A&M 21-12, but the number of shots on goal was nearly identical, with the Crimson Tide holding a 7-5 advantage.

In the 21st minute of the game, Crimson Tide’s Nadia Ramadan set up Giana Paul for an open shot, and she missed the opportunity for her 10th goal of the season.

Both defenses remained dominant in the second half and Alabama was the only scorer to take the lead.

The Crimson Tide next travels to South Carolina on Friday. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. on SEC Network.
