With Q-School pre-qualification now in the rearview mirror, dozens of amateurs will see the competition tighten as they join the exempt pros and amateurs in the first phase of Q-School.

The next five of 13 First Stage qualifiers begin on Tuesday, October 15 in Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Mexico and Texas. 19 amateurs are spread across these five locations, including several mid-amateurs hoping to achieve some sort of tour status while protecting their amateur careers by keeping the (a) after their name.

Here are the amateurs we will see this week. The following links provide information on each qualifying match (including scoreboards).


FLORIDA – THE RESERVE AT IRONHORSE

Blades Brown (a) – Nashville, Tennessee — View profile

Brown is one of the best young golfers in the country. This year he made it to the round of 16 at a PGA Tour event, the Western Amateur and the last 32 at the US Junior Amateur.

Quinn Croker (a) – Australia — View profile

Croker won the 2024 Australian Men’s Amateur and the 2024 Queensland Amateur. He reached the round of 32 of the North & South Amateur and finished solo second in the Southern Amateur behind Wenyi Ding.

Gavin Clements (a) – Franklin, Tennessee — View profile

Clements just finished his time at Middle Tennessee State, where he finished 2024 with a 74.5 stroke average and was fifth on the team in birdies with 51 and second in eagles with three.

Nathan Piatt (a) – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. — View profile

Piatt is a recent graduate of Radford University and placed sixth solo at the 2023 Eastern Amateur and T2 at the 2022 Pennsylvania Amateur.

Max Brenchley (a) – Alpine, Ut. — View profile

The recent BYU graduate is looking to advance past the first stage after qualifying for the 2024 U.S. Amateur Tournament at Hazeltine National Golf Club. In high school, he won three state championships and finished T3 at the WCC conference championships.

Anthony Garcia (a) – Miami, Florida

The former LaSalle Explorer performed well in college and is now turning his attention to Q-School and getting through the first phase of qualifying.

Tom Gueant (a) – France –View profile

The golfer from France reached the round of 64 at the 2023 British Amateur and graduated from Oregon in 2021-22. He won the 2019 British Boys Amateur Championship.

Peter Fountain (a) – Raleigh, NC — View profile

The North Carolina graduate was a two-time All-ACC and first-team All-America in 2021, No. 5 in career batting average and holds the lowest single-season batting average ever by a Tar Heel. He was one of two Tar Heels with Austin Greaser to start on four consecutive teams that finished in the top five in the NCAA Championship, and it was only the second time in ACC history that a team finished in four consecutive NCAA Championships Championships finished in the top five.

Jake Hall (a) – Knoxville, Tennessee — View profile

Hall won the 2023 Tennessee Amateur with a 9-under 61 final round, winning by four shots and setting the course record. The former Tennessee golfer finished T7 at the 2024 SEC Championship and T9 at the 2024 Pacific Coast Amateur.

Kelvin Si (a) – San Diego, California. — View profile

Si finished 12th solo at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Amateur and T9 at the 2024 El Macero Classic. The San Diego graduate was named to the 2022-2023 All-WCC Honorable Mention Team and the 2022-2023 WCC Golf All-Academic Team appointed.

The New Mexico graduate won the 2024 John Burns Intercollegiate and the 2022 Wolf Pack Classic. He reached the final 16 of the 2024 US Amateur and T22 of the 2024 European Amateur.

Christopher Chomyn (a) – Irvine, California. — View profile

The Stanislaus State senior was the 2024 Stan State Athlete of the Year and was named to the PING/GCAA All-West Region First Team. He was also named to the All-CCAA First Team, was a two-time CCAA Golfer of the Week and was named to the CCAA Championship All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive year.

Sam Lape (a) – Atlanta, Georgia. — View profile

The Furman and USC graduate scored 64 points in the final round to place second at the NCAA Salem Regional, the highest regional finish in Furman men’s golf history. In doing so, he secured the region’s individual bid for the championship and became the first Paladin to compete in the NCAA Championship since 2001.

The Long Beach State senior was 2024 First Team All-Big West, 2021 Big West Conference Tri-Freshman of the Year and 2021 Big West Conference All-First Team. He also won the 2021 Southern California Amateur.

Winston Wang (a) – Coto De Caza, California. — View profile

Wang finished T19 at the 2023 Agave Amateur and will now look to advance to the second level of Q-School.

Benton Vineyard (a) – Bethesda, MD. — View profile

Weinberg reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 and 2024 Maryland State Amateur. The Iowa graduate also placed second and T6 solo at the 2023 and 2024 Middle Atlantic Amateur.

The talented golfer from Argentina placed 21st at the South American Amateur and 8th at the Latin America Amateur. As a medalist, he also won the 2023 Argentine amateur competition.

Vicente Marzilio (a) – Irving, Texas. — View profile

Marzilio made the match play portion of the 2023 U.S. Amateur Tournament. The North Texas and Texas Tech graduate enjoyed a standout collegiate career, playing in all 11 tournaments for North Texas in 2022-23 and playing singles in the NCAA Norman Regional, where he achieved the team’s best point average with 72.08 points. His career average of 72.47 leads the North Texas program and he was named to the first team All-Conference USA team three years in a row.

The former Texas Longhorn and SMU Mustang earned 2023-24 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honors, PING All-Central Region team honors and earned a spot on the 10-man All-Big 12 team.

Bebich played for Washington State University and enjoyed a standout collegiate career with several top finishes, including a runner-up finish at the 2023 Pacific Invitational. He was also named the 2023-24 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, which highlights its academic and athletic balance. Bebich has also competed in notable events such as the US Amateur and qualified for 2022.

He shot rounds of 76-77-75-69 and finished 9-over.

Mateo Fuenmayor (a) – Beaverton, OR view Profile>
Fuenmayor, who played for Oregon State, continued to develop as a player by significantly lowering his scoring average during his college career. During the 2023-2024 season, he finished two rounds under par five times for the Beavers: the Husky Invitational, the Cal Poly Invitational, the Amer Ari Invitational, the Prestige and the Redhawk Invitational, and shot a low round of at the Oregon State Invitational 66.

He shot rounds of 80-76-74-70 and finished in 12 overs.

Matthew Manganello (a) – Las Vegas, NV view Profile>
Manganello played for Fresno State, where in 2022-2023 he became the first Bulldog to win two medals in the same season since Nick Watney in 2002 with victories at the Saint Mary’s Invitational and the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.

He shot rounds of 74-71-67-76 to reach even par.

Ben Warian (a) – Stillwater, MN view Profile>
Warian excelled as a member of the University of Minnesota Gophers golf team and, after graduating in May 2024, won a major event on the Amateur Golf Summer Tour at the Sunnehanna Amateur in June. He fired on all cylinders in the first round at Southern Dunes, shooting a 66 to tie for second place.

Warian posted rounds of 66-73-69-70 to finish at 10 under and qualify for the second stage.

Joe Neuheisel (a) – Scottsdale, AZ view Profile>
Neuheisel is a standout amateur golfer who won the 98th Arizona Amateur Championship in 2022. He also achieved high placings in several other prestigious events, such as second place finishes at the Grapevine Amateur and the Stocker Cup. Neuheisel was competitive at the national level, including reaching the quarterfinals of the California Amateur.

Neuheisel shot rounds of 72-76-70-70 and finished with 4 overs.

Ben Partridge (a) – Surrey, UK – view Profile>
Partridge is a well-known British golfer who played for Hutchinson Community College before transferring to the University of San Francisco. A defining moment in his career came in the summer of 2023 when he captured the Tillman Trophy, securing full Clutch Pro Tour status for 2025. This tour includes 24 events and culminates in the top 5 players receiving a coveted Challenge Tour card.

He shot rounds of 80-73-68-70 to shoot 7-over.
