First alarm forecast:

First alarm forecast:

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Jackson hit 89 degrees Sunday afternoon and Vicksburg hit 90. Those aren’t records, but they’re nearly 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.

An approaching cold front will dip into “Sip Monday.” The significantly cooler temperatures will remain behind for about a day. Midweek will see highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s. And there will be no rainfall across central Mississippi associated with the passage of this front. However, it will be windy and dry, creating an increased fire risk today and into the work week.

There are no tropical concerns for the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean over the next 5 days. The only thing on the radar is an area of unsettled weather off the African coast with a low 40% chance of development.
