The AP Top 25 saw a major shakeup for the second straight year as Oregon shocked Ohio State and rose to No. 2. Additionally, LSU jumped five spots to No. 8 after beating Ole Miss in overtime, and Iowa State reached the top 10 for the first time since 2021.

Overall, Oklahoma fell completely out of the rankings after a devastating 34-3 loss to No. 1 Texas in the Red River Rivalry. The Rebels also fell nine spots to No. 18 after a second loss. Even after the win over Florida, Tennessee fell to No. 11, a three-spot change.

The biggest story, however, involves No. 23 Army and No. 25 Navy, both of which made the rankings in the same year for the first time since 1960. The two are members of the same conference for the first time ever, as the Black Knights joined the American Athletic Conference this year. The Service Academy duo joins No. 15 Boise State as a member of the Group of Five in the rankings.
