Texas A&M Aggies climb to No. 14 in Week 8 of AP Poll

The Texas A&M Aggies continue to make progress in the AP Top 25 rankings, and the Maroon and White didn’t even need to take action on the field to do it.

After serving their first bye week of the 2024 season, the Texas A&M Aggies moved up one spot to 14th in the AP Poll, between the undefeated No. 13 BYU Cougars and the red-hot No. 15 Boise State Broncos, the latter led by their Heisman Trophy candidate running back Ashton Jeanty.

The Aggies will look to continue climbing the standings when they travel to Starkville to take on Mississippi State and hope to repeat the 51-10 loss they handed the Bulldogs at Kyle Field last year.

The following weekend, the Aggies host the No. 8 LSU Tigers at Kyle Field, where they will really get a chance to improve their ranking in the polls.

After their dominant 34-3 win in their first Red River Rivalry as a member of the SEC, the Texas Longhorns remain atop the standings, followed by the Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs.

Oregon climbed to second place after a thrilling 32-31 win over the Buckeyes in Eugene on Saturday night.

Ole Miss fell to 18th overall after an overtime loss in Death Valley to the LSU Tigers, and the Missouri Tigers moved up two spots after their 45-3 win at the UMass Minutemen.
