The first frost of the season is possible this week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – It felt like summer was winding down over the weekend, but a huge drop in temperatures is expected to start the week

A cold front will move through the Midstate tonight and will drop our temperatures into the 40s by morning.

Monday will be significantly cooler than this weekend. It will be sunny in the afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and even cooler. Highs will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s. Overnight our temperatures will drop to as low as 30°C. At sunrise, many could see the first frost of the season – especially on the Cumberland Plateau.

Wednesday and Thursday will be bright and sunny days with high temperatures in the lower to mid 60s. Low temperatures will fall back into the 30s, bringing the risk of more frost.

NEXT WEEKEND

Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny days. Although there may be some isolated frost on Friday morning, the chance of further frost will diminish over the weekend. Highs on each of those three days will be in the low to mid 70s.
