Jaguars secure Andre Cisco on tough loss to Bears in London: ‘A lot of giving up’

The Jacksonville Jaguars have questions to answer after suffering a tough 35-16 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday in London. With the loss, the team moves to 1-5, indicating another dismal season for the Jaguars.

After the game, Jacksonville safety Andre Cisco said he wasn’t happy with what he saw from the team. “It was really bad,” Cisco told Action Sports JAX. “I just felt like it was, how can I put this… a lot of disappointment.”

The Jaguars controlled the first quarter of the game and took an early 3-0 lead, but Chicago took the lead in the second quarter. Despite scoring two touchdowns in the second half, the Jaguars failed to gain much momentum on offense or defense in the loss.

“In a situation like this you can feel whether we are playing as a unit or not. “Early on in the game, maybe at halftime, there was a feeling that we weren’t playing as a unit,” Cisco said.

Cisco said Jacksonville’s problems are not due to scheduling or practice, but rather players’ current difficulty showing up and getting things done on game day.

“It depends on Sunday,” Cisco said. “There is no excuse for a lack of effort. It’s literally the least you can do if you come out and put in the effort. And that’s what I tell myself.”

Cisco had one of the few big plays of the game for the Jaguars, grabbing Jacksonville’s first interception of the season in the second quarter and stopping Chicago’s momentum. Although they got the ball back, the Jaguars didn’t capitalize on the opportunity.

“The season is far from over,” Cisco said. “The NFL is set up to play through Week 18 and we know that. So it’s not about: ‘Oh, the season is over, let’s stop, let’s look at next year’, for me it’s nothing.”

“But we understand that it is a Sunday thing. It’s no longer a schedule thing; that’s dead. So at this point, everyone needs to understand that Sunday is the right time.”

Jacksonville will play another game in London next week, taking on the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium.
