Pokemon Legends: ZA was originally scheduled to release this year before being pushed back to 2025. This is according to leaked online material that is said to be due to a hack at Game Freak.

This material includes both the apparent initial release window and the Pokémon we’re expected to see in the game. According to the leak, Mega Zygarde and Mega Zeraora will be in the game. This would be the first time that Zygarde has Mega Evolution, with the leak suggesting that the Mega form will also appear in the anime.

Since Pokemon Legends: ZA was announced in February as a 2025 release, that would mean the delay has been around for some time. This can be traced as the leak covers information about the Pokemon franchise from several years ago and not just current details.

Although unconfirmed, it is possible that this means Pokemon Legends: ZA was delayed so that it could coincide with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. This Switch successor was also said to have been planned for release in 2024, before reports suggested that it was postponed to 2025.
