ZA leak reveals first Pokémon, Mega Evolutions

A new Pokemon Legends: ZA leak has surfaced online, revealing the first Pokemon coming to the game as well as the return of Mega Evolutions. While the game’s Pokedex is expected to include the entire Gen 6 Pokedex and more, this has not been confirmed. This is only speculation since Pokemon Legends: ZA is set in Lumiose City. For those who don’t know, Lumiose City is set in Kalos, the region of Pokémon X|Y, also known as Gen 6.

While we don’t have any official news on the Pokemon Legends: ZA Pokedex yet, we do have the next thing in particular: a leak, courtesy of Centro Leaks. Yesterday Game Freak, the series developer, was hacked. In turn, tons of information about old, current and future games, as well as other media projects such as films, television shows and anime, have been leaked. There are entire Game Freak databases circulating online for this purpose, but not much has been leaked about Pokemon Legends: ZA, at least so far.

What has come out about the game is that Mega Evolutions are back. To this end, Mega Zygarde and Mega Zeraora are in the leak. Unfortunately, there is no media for any of the Mega Evolutions, only code chains and files that indicate their existence in the game. The former, Mega Zygarde, is apparently also being prepared for an anime debut.

Additionally, it was revealed that the game was originally planned to release on Nintendo Switch in 2024. We don’t know when these plans changed. It’s also unclear whether it will still appear on the current Nintendo Switch or whether it will end up being a Switch 2-only game. Considering the possible release date in 2025, it will likely be a cross-generation release, meaning a release for both Switch and Switch 2.

Of course, take all of this information with a grain of salt. The leak is real; There is no doubt about its validity. However, it is unclear how old this information is. For this reason it may no longer be accurate as things are constantly changing in game development. This is evident from the announcement of the previous release date of 2024.
