When do the Michigan State Spartans play today?

An exciting Week 7 of college football in the Power Four began on Friday night as Maryland hosted Northwestern in a Big Ten showdown and No. 17 Utah traveled to Arizona State for the late-night opener.

Some of the best matchups of the season are happening this week, with the Red River Rivalry between No. 1 Texas and No. 16 Oklahoma in Dallas, USC hosting No. 5 Penn State and the game that everyone in the One thing to keep an eye on – No. 2 Ohio State travels to Oregon to take on the No. 3 Ducks.

The good news for MSU fans is that since Jonathan Smith’s Michigan State squad is not playing and is in its first bye week, they should have plenty of time to see all the great games across the country.

The Michigan Wolverines also will not play on Saturday as their first bye week also coincides with MSU’s.

No. The bye comes at the perfect time for the Spartans after they started the season 3-0 before losing three straight games to Boston College, Ohio State and Oregon. That would be a brutal challenge for any team in the country, but it was particularly tough for a rebuilding Michigan State team that still hasn’t established its identity. The Spartans will return to the field in Week 8 when they host Iowa at 7:30 p.m. on NBC/Peacock.
