Israeli Police Arrest TLV BDSM Leader Following Allegations of Rape and Torture – Crime in Israel

Six leaders of Tel Aviv’s BDSM community were arrested Saturday evening after multiple reports on both Channel 12 and Walla of alleged rape and torture in clubs and private homes within the community.

One of those arrested was Nisan Gavni, the so-called leader of a group of men who live in an apartment they call “The College.”

According to numerous testimonies, the group members used the BDSM club Taboo to lure many young women to “The College,” where they allegedly led a community life of free and healthy sexuality that branched off from the BDSM scene.

However, according to police suspicions and numerous witness statements, it was a trap to commit and normalize serious sexual abuse, manipulative exploitation and cruel rape.

Suspects are being investigated

Police are investigating the involvement of at least ten suspects, including Gavni, Shalom Boharon and Guy Shmuel.

Walla reported back in March that the Ayalon Region Crime Fighting Unit was conducting a criminal investigation into suspected serious sexual offenses, including rape, following numerous complaints lodged with the police against this community.

Even after the report on Uvda on Channel 12 (an Israeli investigative journalism program similar to CBS’s “60 Minutes”) over a year earlier, Taboo continued to operate until it was eventually shut down by police.

One argument in the closure order was that “there is reasonable suspicion that the business owners are using the business to commit crimes, including multiple sex crimes.”

A double-digit number of complainants arrived at the police station, where each detailed the serious sexual assaults they allegedly suffered at both The College and the club.
