The Saturday Night Live biopic film receives a rave review from original cast member Dan Aykroyd

The comedy-drama Saturday evening is finally coming to cinemas, as an original Saturday Night Live The performer has nothing but glowing things to say about it. What Aykroyd’s review means for Saturday night

Reitman accurately portrayed the award-winning sketch show

Aykroyd’s review is a great sign not only that Reitman and his co-author Gil Kenan have gone to great lengths to celebrate his namesake’s legacy, but also that this is the case Saturday evening stayed pretty true to his true story. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the film was a one-to-one recreation of the sketch show’s opening night, as the film takes some creative liberties ranging from the on-set fight between Chase and Belushi to many iconic things depicted like only emerged at the last minute, even though it had been set up long before the cameras started rolling.

Nevertheless, as Aykroyd, critics and audiences all shared their opinion Saturday evening Reviews, that’s clear These deviations from the true story don’t necessarily detract from the overall quality of the film. The film currently holds an 80% critical and 89% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been particularly praised for its fast pace and insightful yet funny look at the sketch show of the same name. While it doesn’t look like the film will take off at the box office on its opening weekend, it will be interesting to see if Aykroyd’s praise serves as a big vote of confidence over the next few weeks.
