Pokémon developer Game Freak has apparently been hacked, which appears to have resulted in large amounts of data – from source code to future project details – being leaked online.

While we won’t go into too much detail, source codes for DS titles like Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, as well as Black and White 2, have surfaced online, according to multiple reports already doing the rounds.

It is also believed that some codenames have been discovered for the tenth generation of the Pokémon series. This new generation is called “Gaea‘ (including two versions ‘K’ and ‘N’) and is believed to be the Switch successor (codename “ounce“according to this leak) is the target platform, although there could also be tests for the current Switch platform.

Pokemon Legends: ZA is reportedly known internally as “Ikkaku‘ and is believed to be in a fully playable state.

There also appears to be evidence of a Pokémon title codenamed “Synapse‘. It could reportedly be a collaboration with ILCA and is rumored to be a multiplayer game. That being said, a number of unused Pokémon pixel art beta designs from multiple generations are now popping up on social media and elsewhere online.

Pokemon Legends: ZA is Game Freak’s next project and was officially announced at the beginning of February this year. The first trailer confirmed that the game was set in Lumiose City and would be coming to “Nintendo Switch systems.” 2025.

Nintendo (which has hosted the Pokémon games on its platforms for nearly three decades) has previously been involved in some massive leaks of its own, including the infamous “Gigaleak” where multiple projects, games, and source code were leaked.
