Wildcats place eighth at Emerald City Open

SEATTLE, Wash. – The women’s cross country team placed eighth in the 6K race at the Emerald City XC Open on Saturday morning. They finished the race with a score of 141 and a total time of 2:12.45.

“We had a nice meeting in Salem last week, so we gave some people a week off from racing this week.”

“The small group we brought with us fought hard and made nice progress. He’s also one of those who had really strong days.” Quinten Jones And Camryn Holterhoff. Both had something to prove today and performed about a minute better than a year ago on the same track last year. The course was tough and hilly, but we also have tough people.

“I was really proud of Araceli today; she’s going to be a really good wildcat that continues to develop.”



RACE RESULTS
Freshmen Araceli Esquivel led the team and finished 20thTh with 24:56.8 and teammate Camryn Holterhoff was just behind in 28th placeTh with a time of 25:34.0. Xitlalli Salinas-Lopez 34th placeTh with a time of 26:14.1 and looks to continue to improve as the season progresses. Jess Henry and Eva Heroin rounded out CWU’s top five performers with times of 27:32.4 and 28:28.8.
