‘War of the Rohirrim’ director on protecting Peter Jackson’s films

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim In a recent interview, director Kenji Kamiyama explained his reasons for accepting the commission for the upcoming anime film and revealed the challenges and goals of creating such an ambitious film.




According to Japanese news site Oricon, Kamiyama said he viewed the film as a challenge. “I loved it The Lord of the Ringsincluding The Hobbitand saw it as a fan. “I thought it would be rare to get the chance to make it into a film,” he said. He added that the film was “a challenge that I should take up.” Kamiyama was previously known for his work on several cult series, including “ Eden of the East, Blade Runner: Black Lotus And Ghost in the Shell: Standalone complex. Kamiyama offers the following description of The War of the Rohirrim: “200 years before the story of the ring, there was a story about King Helm, the ninth king since the founding of Rohan, whose bloodline was cut off, and I thought I would make a movie out of that story…”[since it has] “In the original it was only about 11 pages, I had to expand the content a bit, so I made the youngest daughter of Helm’s three children the main character.” Later in the interview he added: “Of course I thought about how I could make one I brought this movie into the world 200 years ago, but I think I was able to add some other gimmicks that will do that Lord of the rings Fans smile.”


Kamiyama also discussed the roles of the main characters in the film, adding that the film contains some aspects that do not appear in the works of Tolkien. “I created an original episode for the film using parts that weren’t in the original. The youngest daughter didn’t have a name… so I added Héra as an original character for the film,” he said of Gaia Wise’s role. Wulf, a central villain voiced by Luke Pasqualino, is also introduced, with the character voiced by Luke Pasqualino. In the film, he is the leader of the Dunlendings and seeks revenge against Rohan for his father’s death. Meanwhile, Mirando Otto, who played Eowyn in Peter Jackson’s 2000s film trilogy, is back to voice the same character The War of the Rohirrim.

Producer Joseph Cho also took part in the interview and discussed the film’s visual style in more detail. “Anime has become a movement abroad… I’m grateful for the opportunity to produce something.” The Lord of the Rings through animation. The War of the Rohirrim has its roots in the appendices of JRR Tolkien, and the film’s main character, Helm Hammerhand (Brian Cox), a prominent king of Rohan, is mentioned in the Jackson trilogy in Helm’s Deep. The film takes place between the time of the Jackson trilogy and that of Amazon The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Warner Bros. describes War of the Rohirrim as a “groundbreaking journey back to Middle-earth through the eyes of legendary director Kenji Kamiyama.”

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is scheduled to open in US cinemas on December 13, 2024.
