Simone Biles caused quite a stir online after wearing the wrong merchandise to her husband Jonathan Owens’ second preseason game against the Chicago Bears.

Over the weekend, the gymnast — who just returned from winning a gold medal and breaking records at the 2024 Summer Olympics — attended a game between the Bears and Cincinnati Bengals. And like many famous wives and girlfriends of NFL stars, Biles, 27, rocked a glamorous game day look that 100% honored her husband — just not his team.

On Instagram, the athlete posted photos in which he was wearing an oversized Green Bay Packers jacket, which is a big no-no in football culture as there is a deep rivalry between the two teams that dates back to 1921.

Packers supporters weren’t happy with Biles’ fashion choices, but their hearts were definitely in the right place as black-and-white photos of Owens during his tenure as a safety for the Wisconsin team covered the outerwear.

Although many didn’t hold back their disdain for Biles’ jacket on social media, there were a few fans in her Instagram comments section who kindly encouraged her to swap out her Packers gear for some Bears gear.

“Now it’s time to get a Bears version of this jacket,” one Instagram user wrote.

Someone even tagged Kristin Juszczyk, designer and wife of San Francisco 49ers player Kyle Juszczyk, and asked her to make a Bears jacket for Biles (Juszczyk went viral last season for custom-making Taylor Swift’s, among other custom pieces for NFL WAGs). Chiefs jacket).

Biles has yet to respond to the backlash, but has since shared pictures of her outfit, which also included a Prada bucket hat, jumpsuit, and her custom diamond-encrusted goat necklace.

Biles returned home from the Paris Olympics on August 12. Last month, Owens flew home to support her and watch her win gold in the all-around final, but he was unable to attend Biles’ later individual finals – including the beam final and floor exercise final, in which she won silver – as he had to return to the Bears’ training camp.

Owens cheered on his wife in a ’90s-style T-shirt covered in pictures of Biles in gymnastics mode, and it was also the sweetest moment of the games.
