Carter was announced as part of the class of 2024 on April 3rd along with 12 other new members.

Jordan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009 after a successful NBA career that included six championship victories.

Both players share the same alma mater, having spent their college careers at North Carolina. Jordan led the Tar Heels to a national championship in 1982, while Carter helped the team to Final Four appearances in 1997 and 1998.

The two were also known for their incredible athleticism during their playing careers, with both shooting guards winning three dunk contests together.

Carter also earned Jordan his starting spot in the 2003 All-Star Game, as the five-time MVP was in the midst of the final NBA season of his tenure with the Washington Wizards.

After spending time with eight different teams over his 22-year career, Carter retired at the end of the 2019–20 season. He made eight All-Star squads, won the 1999 Rookie of the Year award and was named to two All-NBA teams.

In addition to his Hall of Fame induction, Carter’s jersey will also be retired by the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets in the 2024-25 season.
