Philip Seymour Hoffman died of a heroin overdose during filming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2 – at the time of his death he only had ten days of filming left on set. Instead of recasting, executives considered using CGI to complete the recording of his scenes. However, after a few minor rewrites, Woody Harrelson and Julianne Moore’s characters adopted some of his lines.
