Video forecast for Saturday evening

We have enjoyed some great weather conditions over the last few days. While it will remain mostly sunny, humidity will increase slightly over the next few days before a strong cold front arrives.

Tonight and tomorrow: The string of cool mornings will continue! Expect lows to fall into the lower 60s for most. The upper 50s could be observed again in some areas north of Baton Rouge. After the cool start to the morning, temperatures will rise until they reach the lower 90s in the afternoon and evening. You may notice a slight humidity, making temperatures a little more uncomfortable.

Next: Humidity will continue to rise Monday, reaching highs near 92 degrees. The increase in humidity will result in some puffy fair-weather cumulus clouds, with no rain expected. Overall, the timing of the passage of our next front has slowed somewhat. It appears to be stalling north of the area on Monday before getting the boost it needs on Tuesday. Because of this slowdown, Tuesday will be slightly warmer than previously expected, although humidity will begin to drop. The rest of the week will see significantly lower temperatures! Highs will dip into the 70s for a few days, with lows in the low to mid 50s.

The Tropics: Showers and thunderstorms associated with a low pressure area a few hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands have not become more organized since yesterday. The low is moving into an environment less conducive to development and therefore the likelihood of tropical cyclone formation appears to be decreasing. This system is forecast to move west or west-southwest across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic over the next week.
