What Jeff Brohm said after Louisville football’s 24-20 win at Virginia

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In its first ACC road game against Virginia, the Louisville football team managed to get back on the winning list and staged a fourth-quarter comeback to win 24-20 in Charlottesville.

“Really proud of our football team,” said head coach Jeff Brohm. “To get to the road, you have to beat a team that is 2-0 in the conference in a back-and-forth game that was far from perfect. But it was hard, skilled work that our team did.”

“I was proud of the work they did this week, I was proud of the work the coaches did this week. We have made some progress. Of course there is more to do and there are many improvements that need to be made, but we did it.” I was proud of our football team. They did a really good job.

While Louisville was out for two games, the victory came despite another overall disjointed performance from Louisville. Defensively, they gave up 449 total yards and allowed Virginia to go 8 of 19 on third downs. Although the Cardinals put up 408 yards on offense, they only scored 3 of 10 on third down and committed six penalties (out of eight total).
