The Yankees open as the biggest ALCS favorite since the World Series run in 2000

Oddsmakers like the Yankees’ chances in the American League Championship Series.

The Bronx Bombers are considered one of the biggest ALCS favorites in recent history over the Guardians.

According to Sports Odds History, the Yankees are -210 favorites to advance to the World Series at BetMGM Sportsbook, as the Yankees were -270 favorites over the Mariners in 2000.

Only two National League teams had better odds during that period – the 2020 Dodgers (-220) over the Braves and the 2010 Phillies (-270) over the Giants.

The betting line bodes well for the Yankees if history is any indication.

Of the 13 teams that have had a -210 or better chance of winning the championship series since 1969, nine have advanced to the World Series.

All three times the Yankees were -210 or better in the ALCS (1998, 1999 and 2000), they won the World Series.

Despite the better championship series odds, the Yankees remain the second-favorite (+180) to win the World Series behind the Dodgers (+160), who had the best odds to win the title at DraftKings Sportsbook for much of the 2024 season.
