FEMA opens Disaster Recovery Center in Lenoir

LENOIR, NC (WBTV) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Lenoir until further notice.

A Disaster Recovery Center is a one-stop shop where survivors can meet face-to-face with FEMA representatives, apply for FEMA assistance, receive referrals to local assistance in their area, and apply to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for low-interest rates -Disaster loans and much more.

FEMA financial assistance can include money for essential home repairs, loss of personal property, or other uninsured, disaster-related needs such as child care, transportation, medical needs, funerals, or dental expenses.

The Lenoir Disaster Recovery Center is located on the third floor of the Health and Human Services Building at 2345 Morganton Blvd. SW. It is open Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

FEMA teams are going door-to-door in Caldwell County and several other counties to share information about resources available in their area.
