The Milwaukee Bucks’ top 5 scorers of all time

The Milwaukee Bucks’ top 5 scorers of all time

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the Milwaukee Bucks’ leading scorer in franchise history.

Some great players have spent time with the Bucks, albeit for limited periods. You won’t find Ray Allen or Oscar Robertson in the Bucks’ top 10 career points total, but it starts with an obvious name. A guy we might as well call Mr. Milwaukee, considering he ranks near the top in almost every statistical category for the franchise.

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo – 18,502 points

The Bucks tried a raw athlete playing Greek basketball at a lower level and ended up becoming the franchise’s leading icon. Giannis is at the top of the leaderboard in multiple categories for Milwaukee. That includes games and minutes, which has helped him rack up stats, but he still leads the team in career rebounds, assists, blocks and, yes, points. He is a two-time Kia MVP, one-time Defensive Player of the Year and led the Bucks to their second title in franchise history. Giannis is the Bucks, and the Bucks are Giannis.

2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – 14,211 points

When Kareem first joined the Bucks, he was known by his birth name, Lew Alcindor. Like Giannis, Kareem led the Bucks to a title. He won a whopping three MVPs in just five seasons with Milwaukee before moving to the Lakers, where he played for over a decade. Kareem sits second in all-time scoring, having been defeated by LeBron Jamed in 2023, but since much of that took place with Los Angeles, he is only second in scoring for the Bucks.

3. Khris Middleton – 12,296 points

Middleton has been a perfect complement to Antetokounmpo for many years. While Giannis is a great athlete who can attack the rim with gusto, he is not the best shooter from distance. This is where Middleton comes into play. His elite three-point shooting has helped free up space for the Bucks, and in four different seasons Middleton averaged more than two three-pointers per game. Theoretically, Middleton could overtake Kareem if he lasts a few more seasons.

4. Glenn Robinson – 12,010 points

“The Big Dog” was drafted first overall by the Bucks in the 1994 NBA Draft, and while he didn’t become a cornerstone player for the franchise, he still had a good NBA career. As the focal point of the Bucks’ offense in the 1990s and early 2000s, Robinson averaged over 20 points per game in seven of his eight seasons with the Bucks. He also made two All-Star Games with Milwaukee. At the end of his career, Robinson joined the Spurs to win a ring, and although he played a limited role in the playoffs, he actually won that title in 2005.

5. Sidney Moncrief – 11,594 points

Moncrief’s reputation as an elite defensive player earned him a spot in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. He was on the first team all-defense team four times and was named Defensive Player of the Year twice. In the 1980s, Moncrief was the Bucks’ star center and also had a career as a point producer in his prime. He had four seasons in which he averaged over 20 points per game. It was part of a well-rounded game that made Moncrief a member of the Milwaukee Mount Rushmore.
