French court issues international arrest warrant for former Australian rugby star Rocky Elsom

NARBONNE, France (AP) — An international arrest warrant has been issued for former Australian captain Rocky Elsom after a French court found him guilty of misusing company assets during his time as president of French rugby club Narbonne. According to French media reports, the former Wallabies flanker was sentenced in absentia on Friday to five years in prison after he was also found guilty of forgery. He was ordered to repay 700,000 euros ($766,000) in assets wasted by the club in 2015-16. Elsom, 41, played 75 times for Australia between 2005 and 2011 and also represented Irish club Leinster, with whom he won the European Cup in 2009.
