Betting odds for the 76ers vs. Celtics NBA preseason game

The Philadelphia 76ers play their first set in a row on Saturday evening against the Boston Celtics.

A little over 24 hours after their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Sixers find themselves embroiled in a rivalry that counts for nothing.

Given the circumstances, the Sixers likely won’t give Boston a real look at their adjusted roster. With Tyrese Maxey and Paul George both playing on Friday night, it would be surprising if the All-Stars won a game for the second straight year.

As for Joel Embiid, he hasn’t shown a face in the preseason. Embiid was sidelined against the New Zealand Breakers and the Timberwolves due to a break. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Embiid did not travel to the Timberwolves game in Iowa. It’s unclear whether or not he will make the trip at some point, but the big man’s status for Saturday night is likely in doubt.

The game will provide an opportunity for the reserve players to go on a longer run. As for the players fighting for a roster spot, they could have the opportunity to prove why they belong.
