Grand Junction, CO – The warm, dry conditions that have characterized Grand Junction over the past month will change as early as Sunday, with temperatures dropping and the possibility of showers. Residents should prepare for a significant drop in temperatures as a cold front brings relief to the unseasonably warm weather. The National Weather Service expects the warm spell to end today, with highs reaching 30°C before cooler conditions set in on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered to isolated showers will impact areas south of the I-70 corridor beginning Sunday afternoon, continuing into the evening and possibly recurring through midweek. Temperatures are expected to drop 5 to 10 degrees each day early in the week, and forecasts indicate a possible winter storm by the end of the week.

The cooler temperatures represent a notable departure from recent trends, with highs falling from the mid 80s to the low 70s by Monday. Grand Junction residents are advised to prepare for changes in weather, particularly on I-70, as road conditions may be affected by showers and fluctuating temperatures.

With a slight chance of rain on Sunday evening and clearer conditions on Monday, the weather will remain cooler and highs will only reach 30°C. Tuesday is expected to be sunny, but temperatures will remain below average. By Wednesday, the maximum temperature is expected to reach just 25°C, with conditions varying between partly cloudy and mostly sunny.
