Samsung is surprisingly offering buyers of the Galaxy S24 FE a free device offer

Even though the Galaxy Watch FE only came onto the market in June, Samsung is already giving it away for free with the purchase of a Galaxy S24 FE.

This offer is valid for UK buyers only and the offer is valid until October 31st. What’s frustrating is that Samsung doesn’t automatically add the Galaxy Watch FE to the shopping cart when checking out for the Galaxy S24 FE, but instead buyers have to visit Samsung’s claims page.

To qualify, prospective buyers of the Galaxy S24 FE must submit their claim within 30 days of purchase, provide proof that the handset was purchased from a participating retailer, which includes most major UK stores, IMEI number of the device and then wait up to five days for approval. Samsung says that if approved, the device will be released within 45 days.

It’s a lengthy process with a few hurdles, but this is a good deal because ultimately buyers get a free Galaxy Watch FE worth £199 ($260.07). It’s also not the first time that Samsung has given away a free device with the purchase of a smartphone.

In April, the Korean company bundled the (then) newly released Galaxy Tab S6 Lite with qualifying Galaxy S24 purchases. To obtain this, buyers had to go through a similar claims process.

Giving away a free watch (or tablet) likely reflects the Galaxy Watch FE’s lower position in the popularity charts compared to the Watch 7, Watch 6 or Watch Ultra. Samsung gave away the Galaxy Watch FE for free in some European territories back in June.

If you were planning to buy the Galaxy S24 FE, then this is a nice and unexpected free offer. However, I’m not entirely convinced that it’s worth buying the device just for a free mid-range watch. Samsung has repeatedly offered discounts on almost all of its handsets throughout the year, and as we get closer to the launch of the Galaxy S25, these price cuts will become deeper and more frequent.

Just a few days ago, Samsung reduced the Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra by $200 and $300, respectively. There are currently increased trade-in prices on the base Galaxy S24, and all three handsets received significant discounts during Amazon’s Prime Day sale.

Samsung also ran special offers in September, August, July and other months. So don’t feel pressured to complete this offer, as another offer will almost certainly be added soon.
