Clothesline Project Raises Awareness of Domestic Violence (VIDEO)

​MONTICELLO – The Clothesline Project was started on the Cape in 1990 ​Cod by a group of women who wanted to raise awareness of domestic violence against women.

Sullivan County ​SThe project was on display this week at the Government Center in Monticello.

“We want this to be a Conversation starter​ because Take a look at some of the things your t-shirts say to have a conversation Aabout what’s going on in our communitysaid Nafie Jallow from Fearless! ​“DomesticvViolence is one of those things That means a taboo subject; Hhowever, ​bbased on our numbers​ we see hHow widespread this is and how much our community needs the services we provide​.”
