The Witcher 3 is getting a new fan quest that you can download and play now

CD Projekt RED is quietly working on the next installment of The Witcher trilogy, but it’s probably still a long way off.

While it is colloquially referred to as The Witcher 4 and will in fact build on it The Witcher 3: Wild Huntthat is not the official title.

In fact, the next game will kick off a brand new trilogy, rumored to be led by a new protagonist.

We don’t know if that means an entirely new lead actor or an existing supporting character like Ciri.

With that said, we’re in something of a contentment drought right now, but I’ve got just the thing to keep us busy.

The Illusionist’s Curse is a brilliant fan-made quest mod that you should definitely download if you are a PC user.

ICYMI: The Witcher has already released its first teaser for season four, showing Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt in action.

The Illusionist’s Curse was created by NexusMods user Dragoncat2129 using the recently launched REDkit modding tools.

It centers around a mysterious curse placed on a brand new character named Frederick.

It offers three main quests, two possible endings – and therefore the important replay value – and you will meet a total of four new characters.

The creator further teases that it also features lots of custom cutscenes and “a fun maze.”

Once downloaded, the mod will be activated at the same time Blood and wine DLC.

“The Illusionist’s Curse” is actually an entry in the ongoing REDkit modding competition, where participants can win an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, Dyenamik Witcher merch, Insert Coin Witcher merch, or Razer gaming accessories.

The competition has been open for quite some time, but will soon end on October 14th.

All in all, this particular mod looks like a great little bonus adventure – and I know what I’m getting into tonight.
