This powerful console is the XDJ-AZ DJ system from AlphaTheta. The rebranded Pioneer DJ company has launched this all-in-one device to capitalize on the demand for sophisticated in-house PA, while also offering it to traveling DJs and audio professionals who need a flexible, club-quality setup pack into a portable rig.

To the layperson, the Two jog wheels allow you to align, mix and switch between separate sound sources. The device can be connected to up to four devices via the built-in WiFi, including turntables and cloud-based sources. A 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen offers an additional control interface in addition to the controls, faders and sample pads.

The display screen is used to organize and sort playlists, browse libraries, and preview songs before playback. The two jog dials can each be assigned a number of different tasks, e.g. B. Instantly recalling a phrase or beat (Hot Cue) to mix it into whatever you’re playing.

Significantly, the XDJ-AZ also offers support for AlphaTheta’s newly released HDJ-F10 wireless headphones. Integrating the company’s SonicLink system, they can be easily paired with the decks for latency-free listening. Suffice to say, the unit’s live performance potential is only limited by your skill on the decks (and presumably the quality of your record collection).
