The Salaam Club is hosting a golf outing to raise scholarship money

It was a hole-in-one for the Salaam Club of New York, which hosted its annual golf outing on September 27th.

The event, held at the Marine Park Golf Course, raised money for a scholarship fund for Brooklyn high school students.

The day included raffles and first place prizes for the longest ride and the one that came closest to the marker. The excursion was followed by dinner.

Ralph Succar, chairman of the Salaam Club, said the turnout was higher than last year with 70 participants.

“I’m trying to build the scholarship fund to be a tremendous asset to the club so that we can help applicants receive a significant amount of money and we can pass it on to more applicants,” he said. “It was a fun and beautiful day. Ideally we would like to reach 100 golfers, but we are working on it. We need community support.”

The club will award scholarships to four students at its upcoming annual gala.
