First alarm forecast: Warm up on the weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Your First Alert forecast indicates a weekend warm-up with highs in the upper 70s on Saturday and lower 80s on Sunday, while lows will cool into the 50s and 60s. Ultimately, there will be further cooling next week with highs falling into the 60s and lows falling into the 40s. A high pressure system will keep the chance of rain and storms at zero throughout the weekend and into the new week.

Use caution near the surf as seas will be rough and the risk of rip currents remains elevated over the next few days.

As for the tropics, Tropical Storm Leslie will stay well away from the Carolinas and Invest 94L has a medium chance of developing.
