UGC NET Result 2024: What is Normalization of Marks?

For multi-shift work, the raw marks obtained by the candidates in different shifts/sessions are converted into the NTA score (percentile). When a subject test is conducted in multiple shifts, the NTA score is calculated based on the raw marks obtained by a candidate.

The calculated NTA score for the raw marks for all shifts/sessions will be merged for further processing to decide the allocation. In case the percentiles for the multiple shifts are different/unequal, the lowest will be the eligibility cutoff for that category for all candidates.

The UGC NET June exam was conducted from August 21 to September 4, 2024 in two shifts: from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The provisional answer key was released in September for all subjects and the last date for filing appeals was September 14, 2024.
