Provoked transgender volleyball player from the US state of San Jose hits the ball in the opponent’s face

A San Diego State volleyball player was struck in the face Thursday night during a game against San Jose State University involving redshirt senior Blaire Fleming, a transgender athlete who has been at the center of a recent controversy involving several Schools have lost games against the team.

The incident occurred in the second set when the Aztecs led 22-12.

In a video shared on social media, Fleming hit the ball, which then hit SDSU junior Keira Herron in the face.

Herron was knocked down after the hit and the crowd audibly gasped.

She quickly got back up to continue the game.

“Keira Herron has some pink in her hair and her face is starting to look like she fits in as she’s obviously made contact,” the show’s spokesperson said in the video.

SJSU lost the game in straight sets as their record dropped to 9-2.

The incident came amid controversy surrounding the school’s program.

Four schools have lost games to San Jose State this season, including Boise State, Southern Utah, Wyoming and Utah State.

The seizures follow Brooke Slusser, Fleming’s teammate, who just last month, along with former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines and several other female athletes, sued the NCAA over its policies toward transgender athletes, which they say undermine the fairness and integrity of competitive sports Endangering women and at the same time discriminating against women.

According to the complaint, Slusser claimed she did not know Fleming was transgender despite sharing a room together on team trips.

Slusser also expressed safety concerns about opponents playing against Fleming.

“Brooke estimated that Fleming’s spines were moving at speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour, which was faster than she had ever seen a woman hit a volleyball,” Slusser’s complaint said, via the Cowboy State Daily.

“The girls did everything they could to avoid Fleming’s spikes, but still couldn’t fully protect themselves.”

“One thing that is really important in this case is the physical safety issues in volleyball,” Slusser’s attorney Bill Bock told OutKick.

“And that’s what they face every day in practice. So it’s just a crazy, misguided policy that steals athletic dreams from women and gives them to men, while endangering women’s health and safety.”

A San Jose State University spokesman told Fox News Digital on Thursday that no upcoming opponents had informed the team of plans to forfeit upcoming games.

“We currently have no notifications of cancellations. We will play home games tonight against San Diego State and Saturday against UNLV,” the spokesman said.

The team has 13 regular season games left, including a return game against San Diego State.

The schedule also includes second games against three of the four teams that have already lost their first game against the Spartans.
