A teenager is wanted for the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in Northeast D.C., police say

D.C. police are searching for a teenager allegedly connected to a shooting in Northeast, D.C. earlier this year that left a 14-year-old boy dead and a man injured.

On Aug. 1, officers said they responded to the block of Tuckerman Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers said they found a boy, later identified as David Bailey of Northeast, D.C., suffering from gunshot wounds.

Bailey died at the scene, officials said.

A short time later, officers said they found a man with gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Police said they are searching for 17-year-old Andre Chillous, who is wanted on a charge of first-degree murder at gunpoint.

Police are asking anyone who knows Chillous’ whereabouts to call 202-727-9099.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible, officials said.
