Top 25 Alabama High School Football Rankings (12/10/2024)

It’s that time of year, everyone. High school football games took place across the state of Alabama from October 3rd to 5th and there was plenty of great action.

There’s a new No. 1 team in the Yellowhammer State: Auburn defeated Central-Phenix City, which finished No. 2 at 38-33, followed by the Saraland Spartans and Thompson. As you can see in our rankings, things are getting a bit tumultuous as we are now officially halfway through the season.

Here is the complete breakdown of Alabama’s elite high school football teams as we see them heading into Week 7 of the 2024 season.

It’s time for Auburn to move up to No. 1 after their success against Phenix City Central last week, defeating the Red Devils by a close 38-33. Big win for the Tigers.

The Red Devils fall from top spot after a narrow 38:33 defeat against Auburn (see above). Phenix City Central’s next two games, Carver Montgomery and Opelika, are set for tough games.

Saraland came out of a bye week refreshed and beat Baldwin County 55-7 last Friday. This week they take on St. Paul’s Episcopal on the road.

Last week it was close again for Clay-Chalkville as they narrowly edged out Mountain Brook 21-14.

The Thundering Herd earned a 56-0 victory over Jackson-Olin. They will face Minor this week before taking on Homewood.

I have to feel bad for the Warriors because they lost both games this season by one point. Ouch.

The Knights came out of the week focused, as evidenced by a 65-0 win over Carroll. Montgomery Catholic takes the headline spot this week.

Hard Top let these guys fall too far after only losing 14-10 to Parker a few weeks ago. A meeting with Tuscaloosa County is coming up.

The Wildcats earned a solid 17-14 win over Carver Montgomery at home last Friday night. Now they face another test against Opelika.

The Wolverines fell a few spots after a 17-14 loss to Enterprise (see above) and now have upcoming matchups against Phenix City Central and Auburn.

We can’t place Hewitt-Trussville too low on the list because of a 15-10 loss to Thompson. The Huskies look to bounce back this week against Prattville.

The Vikings continued their good times as they earned a 31-6 victory over Bryant. This week, Mary G. Montgomery faces Fairhope before taking on Baker.

Not many teams can currently claim to be playing as well as Spain Park. The Jaguars remained undefeated after a 31-3 victory over Chelsea.

The Yellow Jackets just keep going as they took care of business with a 27-0 win over Pell City.

The Aggies left no doubt on the field as they cruised to a 40-13 victory over Orange Beach.

The Hornets looked impressive in their 47-0 win over Robertsdale last week. Now Baker heads out to face Foley tonight.

If you thought TR Miller would slow down at all, you would have been dead wrong. The Tigers remained undefeated after a 48-7 victory over Cottage Hill Christian Academy.

One of the more impressive wins on Friday last week was by Opelika when they defeated Dothan 28-7.

The Trojans had a bye week, defeating Athens at home 56-42 and play tonight in Jasper.

The Titans are winners for the fourth time in a row after a 55-0 victory over Lee. Gadsden City will hit the road and face Jasper.

With a 29-7 win over Elmore County, the Volunteers ensured they maintained their undefeated record. Solid win for Central of Clay County.

Impressive win after impressive win for the Toros and they have another one to their name with a 42-12 win over Blount last Friday.

The Wolves climb into the rankings this week after defeating Elberta 40-0. Next up is a road trip to Faith Academy.

All three losses came to teams included on this list: Clay-Chalkville, Oxford and Parker.

Quarterback JL Davis has played really well this season, completing 65 of 112 passes for 1,149 yards and 12 touchdowns.
