Vegas LB Robert Spillane has a “chip” on his shoulder with the Steelers; Raiders OC Luke Getsy on Justin Fields

Fridays “First Call takes a look at some reunions in Las Vegas on Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Raiders.

Luke Getsy and Steelers quarterback Justin Fields will cross paths again. Vegas linebacker Robert Spillane gets to play against his old Steelers teammates.

Duquesne renews acquaintance with an in-state rival. And the Robert Morris hockey teams have a challenging weekend ahead of them.


Black and gold to silver and black

Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane admits a little more fuel was added to his fire ahead of his team’s game against the Steelers this weekend.

Spillane spent four years in Pittsburgh, playing in 74 games, starting 38 and registering 191 tackles, three sacks and one interception.

At the college level, he served as an assistant at Pitt and also held jobs at IUP, Western Michigan and Mississippi State. He was also on the Green Bay Packers coaching staff before getting the OC job in Chicago.

Pitt (5-0) takes the field at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m.) against California (3-2) ranked No. 22 in the country according to the AP Top 25 poll. The Robert Morris men’s and women’s ice hockey teams are both Ice skating this weekend.

The women are already in their third weekend series of the season. Over the last two weekends, the Colonials have won three of four games against Union and Bemidji State. Now they head to Potsdam, NY for the first time to take on Clarkson for two games. The third-place Golden Knights have a record of 4-0-0 and outscore their opponents 34-3 until now.

Meanwhile, the men’s team played its first game from Three exhibition games on Thursday night, with a 7-2 loss to Bowling Green. The Colonials and Falcons are part of a four-team round-robin tournament in Michigan that also includes the U.S. National Development Team and a Canadian university called Simon Fraser.
