Doug Emhoff responds for the first time to allegations that he “violently” beat his ex-girlfriend

The second Mr. Doug Emhoff did not deny allegations that he “violently” beat an ex-girlfriend after a drunken evening in France more than a decade ago, but instead called the claim a “distraction.”

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough asked Emhoff to respond to several “tabloid stories about your personal life,” apparently alluding to allegations from Daily Mail sources that he slapped his former girlfriend and hired a “trophy secretary” at his powerful Los Angeles law firm.

“We don’t have time to be mad,” Emoff replied. “We don’t have time to focus on this. It’s all a distraction. It’s to try and take us out of the game.”

Scarborough said former President Donald Trump unnecessarily expanded on the stories while making “incredibly crude and lewd” insinuations about Vice President Kamala Harris’ past.
