Witch Dance to raise money for Moms Demand Action

Witch Dance to raise money for Moms Demand Action

There will be a “Witch Dance” at Scoville Park on Saturday, October 19th starting at 5 p.m. to raise money for a group called Moms Demand Action.

From 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., locals gather to learn a dance dressed as witches with brooms and then perform it at 6:00 p.m. Donations will be accepted before and during the event. Sarah Corbin, an Oak Park resident, told the Wednesday Journal in 2023 that about 25 to 40 people attend the dance each year.

Moms Demand Action is a grassroots initiative that advocates for public safety efforts that protect people from gun violence. There is a local group of volunteers from Austin, Oak Park, River Forest and neighboring communities who make up the Oak Park-Austin Region Moms Demand Action Cohort.
